Happy Feast of Winter Veil!

If you've been good this year, maybe you'll receive treats from Smokywood Pastures as your treat for the Feast of Winter Veil. Huzzah.

The arrival of December marks the upcoming holiday event with Father Winter. I, for one, am looking forward to the holiday patterns, the snowballs, saving Metzen the reindeer, and yes, even the Greench.

For our December update, we're up to 3 of 4 bosses on Zul'Aman (that pesky Dragonhawk will be shown the bird soon enough), got A'lar down to 33%, and still working on Magtheridon (60%?). So, we're still making progress in ZA, TK, and SSC. We're still pvping, and creating more arena teams, though yesterday was a bit rough around the edges.

Congratulations to Limody, Nerion, and Silva on their acceptance into our fine ranks! Time to pay up for all the votes y'all bought! Booyah!

I hope you all get what you ask for for Christmas, and that the gifts you give will be received well. Drive safe.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Attack of the Killer Turkeys

With the release of patch 2.3, Elder Tribunal is forging ahead on all fronts: farming Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, some Tempest Keep. (Gratz on your Bloodmaw Magus Blade, Vaug!) We're actively working on Serpent Shrine Caverns, Zul'Aman on the raid front. We are fielding a few arena teams, that are also doing well. We've got hardcore PVPers and softcore PVEers. Through it all, we're good people having fun. So sit for a spell, take a load off, and chat.

So far, the word on the street on the 2.3 patch is as follows: Zul'Aman - fun new content = yay, Ritual of Refreshment - group water tables = good, Fear Ward - (crickets)... we'll let you know after the priests buy it, heroic badges drop in raids = woot, and the AV changes don't appear to be as horrific as people feared. All in all, it looks like we'll have some fun times into the holiday season.

And finally, I would like to dispell the shroud of evil distrust surrounding the consumption of glorious gobblers. So it looks like we're cleared on consuming turkey, so set down your knife and fork, and be prepared to faceplant! (cue your favorite Thanksgiving music. Personally, I'm torn between Wednesday's Indian Thanksgiving, and They Might Be Giants)

Happy Halloween, Elder Tribunal!

"There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people:
religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin" - Linus Van Pelt in It's the
Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Happy Halloween, guild members, applicants, and visitors. Hopefully you have scored the rewards for your efforts this evening, whether it be buckets of candy, the drops off the Headless Horseman, killing Vanndar for the nth time, or downing the raid boss.

Halloween marks the beginning of the fall holiday season, so as we begin the dramatic crescendo of holiday cheer, please remember to have fun, drink responsibly and (at least until 2.3 hits) loot the friggin dogs!

Happy Saint-Jean!

Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy.
Frank Sinatra

Happy Saint-Jean to every quebecois and every americans! The 24th of June is always a special moment in Quebec as it is the equivalent of the Independance day in USA (well kind of).

Following the paien tradition of the old, the quebecois light a big fire in major cities and a lot of citizens do the same in their backyard. And following the new tradition of the really festive people that these habitants have become, it is a time of drinking and joy (well mostly drinking ;P).

Nothing to do with the game, but still an important holiday for a small part of the guild... so have a happy Saint-Jean!

Elder Tribunal clears Karazhan

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.
Albert Einstein

After many months of work in Karazhan, many nights of frustration and swearing, Elder Tribunal finally cleared the Karazhan raid. After the hardeous work on mastering the strategy on Netherspite, we decided that Nightbane would get it too. Only after three tries on the monstreous undead dragon, we slayed him down with everyone up and mana to spare!

It seems that our expectations about patch 2.01 and the matter of casual raiding really met our expectations: the bosses are doable without ten zillions flasks and all world buffs.

On a final note, let us be proud of our advancement this week but at the same time we should not let all that excitement get in the way of our gameplay. We need to work more on some encounters until they gain the farm status (Prince anyone :P) and set our goal for a cleaning of the instance from both groups every week. Let us share strategies, knowledge toward this goal while also keeping in mind that we are raiding together to have fun! If things goes well we should soonly have the required healing for Gruul's Lair and a glimpse of the upcoming Serpent Shrine. So let's set our heart together and work our way to the 25 man so we can all play together once again!
